Home How to help? Volunteering

Do you think you could make a real difference to people’s lives?

Do you get satisfaction from seeing children develop their true potential?

Do you want to experience one of the most rewarding adventures of your life?

If so, why not consider becoming a volunteer at Seametrey Children’s Village?
Our dream of bringing the world to our children at Seametrey came true a few years ago when people of different ages and backgrounds started volunteering at Seametrey Children’s Village, through Travel To Teach, Outreach UK, Développement Sans Frontières or through direct contact with us. We thank all of them. They love our children and the children love them.

Anyone can volunteer provided you are committed and have a skill to share. We need English and / or French speaking volunteers in classrooms to interact with children and teach them all sorts of skills, not only the English language: Art, craft, music, French, computer, swimming, games and sport etc. We need volunteers to help organize the library and train a local person to become a competent librarian. We need volunteers with computer skills to help in the administration. We need volunteers with good writing and artistic skills to help write reading schemes. We also need people to help us develop and market our other Seametrey projects. The list is endless.

Don’t worry if you are not an experienced teacher. The desire and commitment to help change people’s lives are the most important things, and we have a great support network of staff at Seametrey Children’s Village to help you settle in.

Men and women of all ages are welcome to join and help make a difference for a few months (a minimum of 6 month is ideal), a way for them to show they care and share.
